How our age-verification works?

Everything happens on your customer’s phone.

Here’s a simplified breakdown of how your machine uses the 3 Laws of Identity and Access Control to verify age and allow access:

1. Registering for the First Time

To create an account, users provide three forms of identity:

1. What They Are

   • Users scan their face and ID (like a driver's license or passport).

   • This step ensures we know who they are and verifies their age.

2. What They Know

   • Users set a password.

   • This is a secret only the user knows and adds a layer of protection.

3. What They Have

   • The system generates a unique code for the user.

   • This code is tied to their account and is required to unlock the machine.

2. Returning Users

For returning users, the process is simpler but just as secure:

1. Unlock Their Account

   • They enter their password to prove what they know.

2. Access Their Unique Code

   • Once logged in, they receive a new unique code (because the code changes every time for added security).

   • This code is used to unlock the machine.

How It Verifies Age

• During the first-time registration, the machine checks the date of birth on the ID to ensure the user is of legal age.

• Once verified, the system ties this information to the user's account, so it doesn’t have to check the ID every time.

Why It’s Secure

• Using three factors of identity ensures that no single piece of information can grant access:

  1. The face and ID prove their identity.

  2. The password ensures they’re the rightful owner of the account.

  3. The unique code prevents unauthorized use even if someone gets the other two factors.

This system ensures safe, secure, and age-restricted access for shopping, providing peace of mind for both the user and the platform.
